LFF is a pioneering child protection charity whose vision is to create a world in which children’s rights to live free from abuse and exploitation become a reality.
Our mission is to prevent sexual abuse from happening by working with those perpetrating it, those affected by it and with protective adults who can keep children safe. Over the years we have developed the knowledge, skills and expertise to take on this challenge.
We are the only UK wide organisation dedicated entirely to preventing child sexual abuse and have been doing so since 1992. Our services, programmes and projects are designed to place a protective shield around children, to help prevent abuse from happening in the first place or to prevent it from happening again.
We do this by working in partnership with government, charitable trusts, voluntary and statutory agencies, the private sector and the public.
We also contribute to the evidence base and knowledge of sexual abuse and use this to influence public policy.
We are currently seeking a Treasurer to join our team of Trustees, to oversee the financial matters of the charity as well as to be part of a committed governing team ensuring the correct administration of the organisation.
We have a dedicated Finance Director and so the role of Treasurer is to help oversee the financial work of our Charity, not to be involved in the day to day running of the Finance Department.
We are looking for someone with a passion for ensuring high quality services are given to those we help and who has the senior experience of Financial Controls – i.e an accountant or similar. Preferably we would like someone with an understanding of Charity finance, pensions and legal requirements but this is not essential.
We have a Finance and General Purposes Committee with delegated authority from the Board. The successful person will need to be able to attend both of these meetings as well as our AGM. In total this means a commitment of approximately 10 meetings a year in London and/or the Midlands for which reasonable travel and out of pocket expenses will be refunded. In addition there may be ad hoc meetings with the Chair/Finance Director/CEO.
Further information can be obtained through either the Chair/Vice Chair of The Lucy Faithfull Foundation on 01527 591922.
